Sustainable manufacturing

Recycling

AS Fiskenett and Egersund Group are committed to sustainable manufacturing and the circular economy. In collaboration with the Norwegian company Nofir AS, discarded equipment from fishing and fish farming around the world is collected and recycled.

The end product is a raw material for the recycling industry which is used in a wide variety of products.

Our environmental diploma shows a 100% material recycling achievement since we started recycling nets in 2015. That means EVERYTHING sent for material recycling, ends up in new products. These products range from car parts to carpets to high end textiles.

Reduced energy consumption

In addition to recycling, AS Fiskenett has reduced its energy consumption by over 50%. This has been achieved by a company wide commitment to implement energy saving activities throughout the 6000 sqm factory.

Simple yet cost effective actions, such as swapping to energy saving lighting, have reduced consumption with no impact to production.

As an energy intensive manufacturer of fishing nets, we are exposed to fluctuating energy prices. We have made a commitment to cut all unnecessary consumption as the cheapest kilowatt of power is the one we don’t use.
