The process

From single thread to finished purse seine net for pelagic fishing

We manufacture our nets from either single strand or pre-woven cord of High tenacity Polymide (Nylon), supplied from two long term European suppliers.

Traditional methods & modern technology

Using a combination of traditional methods and modern technology, we weave our nets to customers specifications, with knotted (twisted and braided) and knotless (Raschel) options.

During manufacturing, our nets go through a unique boiling process which shrinks the net by 20%. This greatly improves the net structure by optimizing the elasticity of the nylon fibres. The result is a net that remains constant in strength and shape throughout its lifecycle.

This is followed by a specialized treatment process utilizing a quick-drying, moisture-insulating bitumen solution. This provides extra abrasion resistance, increased knot strength and extends the life of the net.

The final stage

The final stages of the process requires the expertise of our hand sewing team. They manually stitch the sections of net together and secure sinkers and floats.

No machine can duplicate this expertise and produce the quality finish of hand stitching.
